Class Four Skating Poems

Class Four have been writing poems in two styles:

The day we went ice-skating

 On a December morning
 A cold but sunny day
 All my school went ice-skating
 Hip hip hip hooray!
When we got onto the ice-rink
I didn't know how to skate
But when I got the hang of it
It turned out to be great!
 I am very happy now
 For I've learned something new
So next time I go ice-skating
I'll know exactly what to do!!

Ice skating

It was a day near Christmas.
I was with the Christian school.
 I was really glad.
I thought ice skating was so cool.
When I was on the ice.
I had to wrap up warm.
Lots and lots of people went.
 It was like a swarm.

My Trip to Ice Skating

Going iceskating on a chilly December's day,
Sliding around on the ice rink,
 Falling over getting bruises,
Getting thirsty I need a drink.
 People skating past me,
 It was so cool,
 A few hours later,
 We went back to school.

Ice skating

Years 3-6 all went ice skating.
 It was a christmas treat.
As we steppted on to the slippery ice.
Our skates sliced through the sleat.
 We went round and round.
As the music played a beat.
 Some fell down.
But I managed to stay on my feet.
