Since I left Bradford Christian School I have been to college for two years, where I studied Sports and Exercise Science and the following September I began working at school where I am a PE Assistant as well as helping out in various other lessons. In September I am going to university where I plan to become a PE teacher.
I was a student of Bradford Christian School since Year Three, which
would make me about eight years old. I loved the time I spent at the
school even from being a very young age, the friends that I made
from year three have been the best friends that I have had
throughout my life. I am still very close to a lot of them and even
though some are at university or in full time jobs we still see each
other most weeks and still love each other’s company.
I have many great memories from BCS because the school is so
tightly knit together, no one is left out and everyone seems to be
looking out for each other even if they have never spoken to each
other.
The greatest memories I have are probably related to PE
because that is the thing that I love most. For example, when we
were in year 10 and 11 the small group of boys in my year would be
allowed to go and buy our dinner in Otley before we played squash.
This shows the trust and bond that was there between pupil and
teacher. There was always a huge respect between staff and
students and with some you find that you can treat them as much
as a friend rather than at another school where they may seem to
be the people that are trying to get you into trouble and make your
life harder.
I think it is also important to say that, the curriculum and lessons
provided are as good as anywhere else, and I know that I found it
very beneficial because the classes have not got hundreds of
students in so you find that help is there for you when you need it.
The years I spent at BCS were not only beneficial for me on a
educational basis, but also on a spiritual basis. We had devotions
every morning and I know they still do, and also when I was
attending the school we had a discipleship course,
which I can still remember today and I still apply
the teaching to my life.
