Why Use Websites/CD Roms?

  • Fun
  • Covers a range of learning styles – kinesthetic/auditory/visual
  • Quick diagnosis & immediate feedback on answers
  • Often “Teachers” are available to ask questions via chatrooms/e-mail
  • Monitor your progress& retake questions

Tips

  • Spend non-revision time previewing sites
  • Avoid “wandering” - be disciplined and stick to the sites you are revising from --- turn messenger services off!!!!!!!!
  • Set a time limit and be disciplined with it
  • Use them as a “quick test” or “quick review” of learning - before and after revision from books
  • Do not use them as your sole revision source – they are not usually “board specific”
  • Use a variety of sources – textbooks/excercise books/websites/cdroms/tapes/tv/interactive tv
  • Get hard copies of questions/answers
  • Don't neglect essay style questions
  • Set goals and give yourslef little treats when you achieve them
