Introduction To Child Development

Caring for children is an integral part of our society, and needs to be highly valued. The Bible calls children a ‘reward’ from God (Psalm 127 v3) – it's our responsibility to love and care for them in accordance with His Word.

This Child Development course seeks to teach the GCSE Child Development syllabus in the light of these Biblical principles.

Child Development is an extremely practical and relevant subject. During our course we will cover a range of important topics regarding families, having and bringing up children, and stages of development. Some of the course content will be immediately applied during a six month research and observational study of a child aged between 0–5 years.

The weighting of the final grade is:

  • Written exam paper: 50%
  • Coursework: 50%
