Stages Of Play

Solitary Play

This is playing alone, and from the age 0-2 this is often the only type of play observed.

Parallel play

By the time children are 2 years old,they will begin to enjoy parallel play.This is where they play along side other children but not with them.

Looking on play

Looking on play occcurs from about 3 years old. It is when children will be happy to watch other as they play, and may copy them.

Cooperative play

This also at about 3 years old; children will be happy to play together, share activities and takes on roles.
