Performing Arts Week
Primary Arts Week5th-9th July 2004 is Arts Week for the Primary Department. We have a range of activities including a drumming workshop, art activities, a youth choir and some children will be visiting Shipley town centre to take part in events as part of this year's Nautical Shipley Festival. The activities are running in school for one hour before lunch and for two hours after lunch each day. The children are being split into six different groups and rotating around various tasks and workshops. Shipley Festival Grand ParadeOne of the highlights of our week will be the Shipley Festival Grand Parade on Saturday the 10th July. If your child would like to take part in this event then they will need to be supervised at all times, ie an adult staying with them and watching the child in the parade and being ready to meet them in Shipley town centre when they have finished at midday. You would then be very welcome to stay and join in the the host of activities going on including a band, face-painting, etc, with your child. If you would like your child to take part then please fill in the slip and return it to Mr Barton as soon as possible. The children will meet Mr Barton at St Paul's Church, Kirkgate, at 10.50am with their various creations that they have worked on during the week. We will join other schools and groups for the parade to start at 11.30am. We are very sorry but we cannot allow children to join the parade if they are unsupervised. Shipley Visit - Wednesday 7thOn Wednesday we are hoping to take one group to Shipley town centre but we are still looking for some people to help with transport. We will leave school at just after 12pm and return at about 2.15pm. You would be most welcome to stop and join in the activities with the children. Please let Mr Barton know if you can help with transport as soon as possible. My child/ren ................................................. would like to take part in the parade on Saturday 10th July, meeting at St Paul's church at 11.00am.
