School Prospectus Our Values

A significant part of the process of education is about imparting values:

Because we value God's revelation through His Word, the Holy Bible, we will teach His Word at the beginning of each day and throughout each day in our approach to the curriculum.

Because God is all knowing and we are made in His image we will teach from a Biblical perspective and set goals for excellence for each pupil appropriate to their gifts and abilities.

Because God imparts wisdom as well as knowledge and understanding we will look to the fruit manifested in student's lives as evidence for the application of what children have learned.

Because God is the ultimate authority in our lives we will teach obedience and seek maturity according to His commands and instructions for our lives. This means that training in character and righteousness has purpose in the light of a God who sets good boundaries for behaviour and life choices.

Because God looks on the heart and not the outward appearance we will not overvalue the child whose giftings are intellectual at the expense of developing character, neither will we undervalue the child whose abilities are not intellectual but whose heart responds to God. Because God's creation is exciting and vital, we will teach with joy the realities of the world God has created and which we dwell in. Because God created mankind with a purpose we will teach that God has a purpose for our lives together as individuals.

Because people are unconditionally loved by God we will reflect this in our relationship with each other; staff to pupils, staff to staff, pupils to pupils, school to home, school to community.

Because we are called to be disciples we will encourage discipleship and faith within our school community.

Because God has forgiven our sins, we will teach forgiveness and acceptance of each other. We will teach children to pray for others and to seek the good of others through service.

Because God is a God of order and peace we will run our school in an orderly manner where children feel secure and are encouraged to reach their potential in all areas of their lives.

Because God knows all our hearts we will encourage honesty within our school community.

Because Jesus is the example we follow we will seek to lead our students by the example of our lives and not merely by the imparting of knowledge.

Because children are a gift from God we will seek to foster a reliance on God, not a dependence on us as teachers or an independence from the authority invested in us as parents and teachers.

Because we live in a fallen and secular world we will challenge ungodly thinking especially where it seeks to take away the ability for us to be able to nurture our children according to godly principles.

Because God loved the whole world we will reach out with the good news of the gospel where we can.

Because parents have the authority and responsibility to nurture their children we understand that our authority is endorsed by parents.
