Summer Camp 2006Some views on the trip by Year Eight
On Tuesday 6th, we went to Muston Grange and we unpacked, realising that the sleeping bag and pillow Mr Barton had told us to bring were unneeded. The next day (Wednesday) we did a talent show, which my group won, and was extremely amusing. On Thursday we went on a walk to the beach as we did on Tuesday and Wednesday. Overall 9/10, the only problem was lack of sleep.
Flamboro head lighthouse was good. Beach was Great. Phil Collins tribute band was good. The talent show was great. The dormitories were good. Food was excellent. The time in Filey was good. Shops and beach were good. Equipment was good. Mr Ritchie was a good speaker and the games we played were good. We went to Muston Grange, near Filey, and stayed there. We went shopping for a bit and then had tea. Afterwards Mr Walker made us do the “Hokey Pokey” near the Brigg. On Wednesday Aaron had 7 Pepsis. We worked on our presentations of the LOOSER CRUISER starring Mr Barton and his Camper Van. Dan had another nose bleed. Horty bought a Phil Collins CD – minutes later he realised it was a cheap tribute band, see below.
Mr Walker had a laughing seizure – it got a lot worse, Newby found 2 golf balls and Emily lost her glasses, Mark Bateman gave away secrets how he Proposed to Miss Clarke. Thursday – Aaron caused another injury; Luke Parker gets out first time in Cricket. Newby attempts to eat Harribos Secretly. On Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th June we went to Muston Grange camp in Filey. We did all sorts of stuff like went shopping in Filey town, went to the beach (approx 8 times in 3 Days!!) played kabadi a game between boys and girls where they have to capture each other! Had a talent night, walked to the beach at almost midnight and got completely sunburnt.
When we went shopping we all got lodz of weird stuff like a Big chocolate cake for £2.00, Jewellery, Sweets, Joke Chewing gum and fake cigarettes – we got dirty looks from the locals. Everyone was really tired on Thursday morning even though we had extra sleep. But we still had a really good time! Year Seven and Eight went on a 3 day school trip to Muston Grange in Filey. We stayed in an old bunk barn, home to many flies, spiders and a few wasps! On the first day we walked down to the beach three times: 1st to go shopping, 2nd to go to the beach to play cricket, paddle in the sea and we Discovered “THE SAND PERSON”, 3rd to walk along the beach in the dark playing various games with circles! A man called Mr Richie visited and talked about Gideon and his army. On the= second day we practised for the talent show and walked to the lighthouse at Flamborough Head, where horty bought a CD that he thought was a Phil Collins album, but it was found out to be his songs performed by a tribute band, see below. That night we had the talent show. Some people sang, some reported and some beat other people up. In the end the Year Eight boys won performing a Drama about Mr Barton and his Camper Van.
The next morning everyone was very tired and sick but managed to go to the beach one last time. After hours of tidying up the barn we eventually set off back to school, aching sleeping but glad they went because everyone had a good time. Photos
