Year Eight Lord Of The Flies

Year Eight are currently studying "Lord of the Flies" by W.Golding. Themes we will be exploring include:

• The Fallen Nature of Man

• Rules and Order

• Fear

• Leadership

• Character

We will be developing the ability to draw conclusions from a text and support these conclusions with appropriate quotes. We will also use the book as a springboard for creative writing, selections of which will be posted here.

We began by looking at imagining having to survive in isolated enviroments, and completed a group survival test, pupils having to rate items in terms of survival use. We then wrote stories imagining being stranded on an island .... We also answered questions dealing with issues and themes in the book
